Prepare to be spookified at Cunniff Halloween party

Brave students looking forward to visiting Haunted House

Boo! Aaaaah! It is the Haunted House at the Cunniff School.

Caitlin Donovan and the Cunniff PTO are running the Haunted House at the annual Halloween party on Friday, Oct. 25 from 6:30-8 p.m.

On Tuesday, Caitlin and Rosemary Garside were in the Cunniff basement setting up the Haunted House. Caitlin said they have been working on it with Lisa Russo and Andy Walsh, too. They said they started working on it at the end of September and it was almost done. They said they were setting it up day by day.

“We are happy to do the Haunted House for the students of the Cunniff and their families,’’ said Caitlin.

This year’s theme is a sleep lab. There are different rooms in this year’s Haunted House. There are spiders and bloody body parts, and zombies and hands sticking out of the leaves. There are also brains and bones and spiders to eat. There is a room that glows in the dark.

Tickets for the Halloween party are a nonperishable food donation or a cash donation for the local food pantry.

Caitlin said this is not a dropoff event, and kids must have an adult or guardian with them. She said fake weapons and sharp props should be left home.

Beside the Haunted House, there be games and other fun stuff. There will be a disco, face painting, a photo booth, a karate demonstration, and the Zombie Snack Shack, where food and drinks will be available for purchase.

A lot of kids think the Haunted House is the best part.

“We have so much fun transforming an unused basement into something that everyone can enjoy,’ said Caitlin. “The success of the event is really a community effort, due to the efforts of parents, teachers, and Principal Ciarlone.”

Come to the Haunted House and be spookified!
