“Wizard of Oz” musical takes stage this weekend!

Watertown and area students to perform show Thursday through Sunday at First Church in Belmont

The musical “Wizard of Oz” takes the stage Thursday, Nov. 12, through Sunday, Nov. 15, at the First Church in Belmont.

    The musical “Wizard of Oz” has arrived!

    All of the students involved in the show this weekend at the First Church in Belmont is very excited.

    There will be kids from kindergarten to 10th grade participating in the show. Many kids in the show are from Watertown, Belmont, and surrounding areas. There are so many kids in the show, there are two different casts that will perform.

    The upper (older) cast will be starring as Munchkins, Scarecrow, Toto, Tin Man, Lion, and Dorothy. The junior choir with all of the kindergarten to fourth-graders will be the Crows, Lollipop Guild and more. The kids have worked on choreography and memorizing lines.  

    The shows are being held on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at 5:30 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at 3 p.m. The show is at the First Church in Belmont at 404 Concord Ave.

    This is a very special event that happens once a year.  Everyone has worked hard and the cast and crew guarantee you will have a blast!
