Funny You Should Ask!

Sixth annual Comedy Night and Silent Auction Cunniff fund-raiser set for April 6

EMMA M., SARAH M., KIMORA Y., and SOPHIE B.

Do you want to be an assistant principal for a day?

Do you want to go to a Red Sox or Patriots game?

Do you want some homemade wine?

If so, then go to the sixth annual Comedy Night and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 6, at American Legion Post 440 at 295 California St., in Newton, starting at 7 p.m.

The Comedy Night is a fund-raiser for the Cunniff School PTO.

“We thought it would be a good idea to create something that would be fun, and an opportunity for parents to get together,’’ said Lisa Cerqueira of the Cunniff PTO.

There will be four Boston comics performing, Steve Macone, Taylor Connelly, Anthony Scibelli, and Andy Dawson, who will be the host. Mrs. Cerqueira said the event is for adults, and so it is for people 21 and older.

Tickets are $10 — or $15 at the door — and can be purchased online at http://worknotes.com/MA/Watertown/cunniffpto/apt17.aspx.

The other part of the night is a silent auction. There are dozens of gifts available. Some of the items for auction are jewelry, massages, trips, autographed books and pictures, sports keepsakes, lots of restaurant gift certificates, and special one-of-a-kind items, like lunch with Mrs. Tanguay, Munchkins with Mrs. Munger, and the chance to be the assistant principal of the entire school!

Luckily, for people who can’t come on Saturday night, they can bid online at www.32auctions.com.

Mrs. Cerqueira said last year the auction and Comedy Night raised about $7,000. She said the money goes to the classrooms. school parties and events, and field trips.

She said the PTO has been working on putting the event together since January.

So come out and have a good time and help raise money for the Cunniff School!
